PRESCALE / PREP
START DATE: Open immediately
HOURS: Wed 1-5pm, Thu 1-5pm, Fri 1-5pm, Sat 3-5pm, Sun 3-5pm (16 hrs/week)
PAY: $19-$23/hour DOE
ROLE & REQUIREMENTS: We are seeking an experienced and/or eager-to-learn individual to prepare and scale ingredients for our morning mixes. Must be able to lift 50lb flour bags, have a strong attention to detail, and be able to work independently. You will be responsible for reading spreadsheets for the following day’s mixes, identifying and resolving any discrepancies, scaling ingredients, mixing sourdough starters, and organizing the prepared ingredients according to their mix. Professional kitchen experience and knowledge of food service industry practices a plus, but not required. We will provide training on all aspects of this position.
This position will assist in a variety of bakery tasks, including but not limited to:
Scaling ingredients for bread mixes to occur the following day
Hand mixing sourdough starters of up to 20lb each
Sweeping and tidying the mix room (no heavy cleaning)
Rinsing dishes used in the scaling process
Assisting in other bakery tasks as needed
AM BREAD BAKER
START DATE: Open immediately/ideally by September
HOURS: Thurs 4a-12p, Fri 3a-11a, Sat 3a-11a, Sun 4a-12p, Mon 4a-12p (40 hrs/week)
PAY: $19-$23/hour DOE
ROLE & REQUIREMENTS: We are seeking an experienced and/or eager-to-learn individual to manage the morning shift of the bake cycle in our wood-fired oven, as well as a variety of bakery tasks. Must be able to lift 50lb flour bags, build and maintain a fire in our four-deck bread oven/manage pellets . You will bake a wide variety of breads, and learn the intricacies of maintaining heat in the oven while managing multiple breads and decks at once. Professional kitchen experience and knowledge of food service industry practices and standards is preferred. Prior baking experience is a plus, but not required. We will provide training on all aspects of this position.
This position will assist in a variety of bakery tasks, including but not limited to:
Baking cinnamon buns, baguettes, bialys, hearth loaves, and sandwich breads
Sweeping out/wiping down the oven and surrounding area, and keeping oven area organized
Building and maintaining a fire, and/or loading 40lb pellet bags into oven hopper depending on the firing method
Scraping dough/flour off of baking linens
Cleaning bread pans
Assisting in receiving deliveries and putting ingredients and other goods away
