PASTRY BAKER
START DATE: Immediate
HOURS: Thursday - Monday, 5:30 - 1:30 daily (40hrs)
PAY: $17.50 - $22/hr DOE
ROLE & REQUIREMENTS: We are seeking a morning pastry baker at our growing bakery. This position will be responsible for baking off handheld baked goods each morning for our storefront cafe and for distribution to our wholesale customers. Professional baking experience and/or professional kitchen experience a major plus for consideration for this role. Must be able to work quickly, cleanly, and manage multiple projects, as well as lift 50lb flour bags. Duties include, but are not limited to:

Baking all morning pastries.

  • Mixing and prepping/baking sweet and savory menu offerings for the day, as well as prep for the next day’s bake.

  • Adding ingredients to the ordering list as needed.

  • Soup and sandwich prep tasks.

  • Collaborating with team members to ensure efficient operations

  • Maintaining and clean and organized work space

  • Implementing food safety regulations and ensuring compliance with health codes.

BAKER/CLOSER
START DATE: Immediate
HOURS: Thursday - Monday, 9-5 daily (40hrs)
PAY: $17.50 - $21/hr DOE
ROLE & REQUIREMENTS: We are seeking an energetic and eager to learn individual to manage the second shift of the bake cycle in our wood-fired oven, as well as a variety of bakery tasks. Must be able to lift 50lb flour bags and willing to work with a very hot oven, loading and unloading large metal bread pans, among other breads. Professional kitchen experience and knowledge of food service industry practices and standards is preferred, but prior baking experience is not required. This position is a great entryway to learning how to manage a large bread production oven.

This position will assist in a variety of bakery tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Baking sandwich loaves

  • Finishing the hearth/baguette bake on busy production days

  • Sweeping out/wiping down the oven and surrounding area, and keeping oven area organized

  • Loading 40lb pellet bags into oven hopper

  • Scraping dough/flour off of baking linens

  • Cleaning bread pans

  • Packing up bread for wholesale/retail

  • Assisting in receiving deliveries and putting ingredients and other goods away


MIX ASSISTANT
START DATE: Immediate
HOURS: Wed/Thurs/Fri/Sat 7am-11am
PAY: $17/hr
ROLE & REQUIREMENTS: We are seeking a morning assistant on our busiest mix days at the bakery to help keep all of our dough mixes running smoothly. While professional kitchen experience is a plus, this is also a great opportunity for someone who does not have kitchen/bread experience, and would like to learn some fundamentals of bread making. Must be able to work quickly and cleanly, follow directions well and work as a team, and lift heavy bins of dough. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Scaling dough out of various mixers

  • Mixing in seeds, fruits, and other ingredients that are added to doughs

  • Scaling water, yeast, salt, etc.

  • Folding doughs during bulk fermentation

  • Helping manage timers

  • Keeping surfaces clean, rinse bins, clean mixing bowls

  • This role has the potential to learn dough shaping once up to speed on mix tasks, as time allows
